Mineral Embrace develops from a gesture of inward concentration. Wheel-thrown in Mediterranean terracotta and altered by hand while the clay remains plastic, the sculpture folds back into itself, suggesting a body held within its own embrace.
The form does not expand outward. Instead, it gathers weight, tension and volume toward its centre, creating a compact sculptural presence that feels both physical and introspective. Curves and folds emerge from the dialogue between rotation, gravity and direct manipulation, preserving the memory of the artist’s hands within the material.
A custom-developed coral glaze intensifies the bodily quality of the piece. Its luminous surface follows the transitions of the volume, allowing light to reveal the internal tensions of the form without disturbing its sense of restraint.
In Mineral Embrace, the gesture of embracing is not represented literally. It is translated into mass, pressure and containment. The sculpture becomes a concentrated body—self-supporting, inward and quietly powerful.
