Fluid Axis explores the tension between structure and movement. Wheel-thrown in Mediterranean terracotta and manually altered while the clay is still plastic, the sculpture captures a moment of controlled torsion—as if a fluid movement had been suspended within the form.
The original geometry of the wheel remains visible, but it is deliberately displaced and reshaped by hand. This transformation gives the piece its sculptural character: a balance between precision and spontaneity, stability and movement. Traces of the making process remain present on the surface, preserving the direct relationship between the artist, the wheel and the material.
A custom-developed blue and violet glaze intensifies the sense of depth and fluidity. Its tonal variations respond to changing light, revealing different nuances across the curved surface and allowing the work to subtly transform within its architectural setting.
Part of Marco Terranova contemporary ceramic sculpture series, each work is individually handcrafted, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Conceived as a sculptural presence rather than a conventional decorative object, Fluid Axis is intended for contemporary art collections, refined residential interiors, hospitality spaces and architectural projects where material, form and craftsmanship become part of the dialogue with space.
