Blue Guardian explores protection through the relationship between two interconnected forms. Wheel-thrown in Mediterranean terracotta and altered by hand while the clay remains plastic, the sculpture develops through a shared upward movement in which one volume appears to support and shelter the other.
The work is built around proximity rather than separation. Its two bodies depend on one another, creating a subtle tension between weight and lightness, vulnerability and stability. The gesture is quiet rather than dramatic, suggesting care as a physical relationship embedded within the structure of the piece.
A custom-developed blue glaze envelops the sculpture in an almost liquid surface. Light travels across the joined volumes, reinforcing their continuity and lending the work an aquatic depth that shifts gently with viewpoint and surrounding light.
In Blue Guardian, protection is not represented literally; it emerges through balance, contact and mutual support. The sculpture transforms the relationship between two forms into a restrained meditation on care, connection and shared presence.
